ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 is a proactive antivirus program which protects your system while you are surfing online. ESET has a ThreatSense technology which offers protection even against unfamiliar threats. The best thing about Antivirus 4 is that they keep your system running smoothly and efficiently while it protects you from threats. The only way you will know that it is running is the occasional information system pop up. ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 has the gamer mode which allows you to play applications (i.e. games, presentations, slide shows...) in full screen without interruptions from pop up notifications. We have evaluated the effectiveness of the antivirus software by trying to download virus files from an IT security website. Antivirus 4 not only detected the threats, but the files were also deleted instantly upon download.

The installation was simple and took only around six minutes. The interface is also simple to use but not boring. You can choose to conduct automatic updates on your computer or perform manual updates just by clicking on “Update.”

There are two interface modes for ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4: Standard and Advanced. Most people choose the Standard interface as it is easier to use. The Advanced mode is for those who prefer access to a number of options and additional categories.

The antivirus software claimed to take up less than 44 MB of the system’s memory but during a test that was conducted it displayed better results. It used an insignificant 21MB or an equivalent of one percent of the computer’s available memory. ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 is an effective and highly recommended antivirus software. Although it was slightly slower than other antivirus programs during a system full scan, the difference was considered insignificant.
